The Ante and Pre School (3-5 Rooms) are very large,  colourful, attractive and stimulating. The walls are decorated by staff and children  in colourful displays, showcasing the children's work and reflecting the current topic they are covering.

Working in partnership with Renfrewshire Council, Abbey adheres to the Curriculum for Excellence whereby a wide range of subject areas are actively promoted and literacy and numeracy skills are encouraged at every opportunity.

The layout of the 3-5 Rooms enables the children to enjoy a variety of activities.

Independence and self help skills are encouraged in this age group; alongside shared values and mutual respect. These are developed through discussion, planned activities, sharing, helper & buddy systems, Golden Rules, reading and role play.

ICT is a key learning area for this age group and we have our own Smartboard digital technology and computer resources to help guide creative learning for the 21st Century.

Dance and movement, gym and drama classes take place throughout the week and children can take part in French lessons from 4 years upwards.

Outside the children can learn to grow their own flowers and vegetables in the garden, as well as have fun in the playground with our wide range of resources

We try to ensure that every week in nursery is different and exciting for children - from celebrating festivals from around the world to participating in nursery activities such as the Christmas Play or fundraising for local groups.
