Introduction

Abbey Nursery Houston is currently registered with the Care Commission to look after 92 children from birth to 5 years and works in partnership with Renfrewshire Council to offer pre-school and ante pre-school places for children, prior to their move to Primary School.

The Nursery is inspected annually by the Care Inspectorate and approximately every five years by HMIe; ensuring we adhere to the policies and procedures and educational outcomes identified by each organisation and offer the highest quality standard of care to our young children.The last Care inspection took place on 13 December 2011 in which the service received gradings of Very Good in the areas inspected:  Quality of Care and Support and Quality of Environment  Although very pleased with this endorsement of the Nursery, the Management and Staff will continue to look for ways to improve the service and are keen to involve Parents and Children in this in a positive way.

"I feel Abbey Nursery is a happy and friendly environment for my child. My child has made strong relationships with staff and other children.  He always seems happy to attend and always want to stay! I'm extremely happy with his care so much so that my younger child wil be starting nursery soon.
